SSAIB
The SSAIB was founded in 1984 to protect consumers and suppliers of security products rights. The SSAIB is a not for profit organisation formed with input from key industry companies, the police, fire service and insurance companies.
The SSAIB has a range of members contributing to the service it provides. This includes representatives of the government, trade and consumer associations and other representatives of the security industry. The SSAIB has UKAS accreditation and its services are regularly inspected and upheld to international standards.
The SSAIB work to offer a resource allowing its consumer’s access to professional suppliers of products and services. The SSAIB are also involved in making and maintaining standards for the security industry by liaising with police and fire services and other key figures in the security sector.
National Security Inspectorate
The National Security Inspectorate has been established for over thirty years, protecting customer’s rights. The NSI exists as a body for approving businesses in the security and fire prevention industries.
The NSI is not a profit focussed company connected to any other businesses or groups in the industry. The NSI inspects companies to ascertain that consumers are getting the best levels of service. NSI approved companies are regularly inspected by dedicated inspectors to extremely high standards, meeting or exceeding guidelines set by the Police force, Fire Services and insurance companies.
The primary objective of the NSI is to continue to raise standards of security products and services to benefit customers. This is achieved by selectively choosing personnel by using thorough recruiting processes and security vetting for approved companies. The NSI also try to encourage members companies to train there staff to the highest levels possible to keep NSI members the premier businesses in the industry.
British Security Industry Association
The British Security Industry Association is Britain’s largest body acting for the security industry. The BSIA strives to offer continuous support and assistance to Britain’s security companies as the market and nature of security products develops.
The BSIA makes sure its members are at the top of their game by regulating services and products that are offered. By making sure that its members are stocking and supplying up and coming and leading lines to their customers the BSIA are safeguarding the industry allowing customers to find what they need and businesses to keep supplying it.
The BSIA has a membership in excess of 500 businesses which accounts for over 70% of Britain’s security industry. Its members specialise in all aspects of security services supplying security alarms and fittings, CCTV systems, security personnel and other related products.
